Tucson Writers Workshop - Resources For Writers
This is designed to be a resource center for those of us who like to write. The Internet is such a vast place that we can only begin to cover all the excellent sites out there. But we'll sample them together, and learn from the experience. This is also the place to share your favorite books with the rest of the group, using the comments section to leave your own list, and to tell us the reasons why.

Guides to Grammar and Writing

I've got a great book on the desk in front of me:
"Eats, Shoots & Leaves" - by Lynne Truss
the title is based on the following joke:
A panda walks into a cafe. He orders a sandwich,
eats it, then draws a gun and fires two shots in
the air.
"Why?" asks the confused waiter, as the panda
makes towards the exit. The panda produces a
badly punctuated wildlife manual and tosses it
over his shoulder.
"I'm a panda," he says, at the door. "Look it up."
The waiter turns to the relevant entry and, sure
enough, finds an explanation.
"Panda. Large black-and-white bear-like mammal,
native to China. Eats, shoots and leaves."
